  Can I modify the layout of a page? For example, could I make a sidebar on the Home Page in which I could post “news” items.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Howdy,

  Each theme’s layout is, generally, fixed. You’re using Misty Lake currently, which does support a sidebar. You can modify what widgets are on your sidebar by visiting the Appearance->Widgets page on your Dashboard (direct link: https://bswotzka.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php ).

  You can add the Recent Posts widget to your sidebar, then your latest posts will display there.
