page layout to cover the full screen

    HI ,
I have made a wordpress.com. blog for the school of my children .
    In general the administration of the blog is very easy , even for newbies like me ;
Although the default appearance is what I need , the page does not fill all the width of the browser window , so the visitor must readjust the width of the page layout with ” CTL + mouse – wheel ” . I have made the test under different browsers ( Firefox , Windows IE ) , and under different operation systems ( Windows , Linux ) , and always the browsers must be re-adjusted from the visitors.
What adjustments do I have to make to ” force ” the browsers of my visitors to fill all the width of the browser window .

    thanks for your attention .

    Dimitrios.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you chosen an adjustable-width theme, first of all?

    HI ,
    thanks for your replay ,

I have made tests with different themes that wordpress.com provides , and always my visitors must make an manual adjustment ( CTL + mouse wheel ) to fill the whole width of theirs browser window .

You will not be able to achieve what you want WITHOUT an adjustable-width theme AND the CSS upgrade, and a good knowledge of CSS. Do you know how to edit CSS?

Are you talking about adjusting the width of the browser to the full screen width? If so that is very rude behavior and I will not visit a site that does that – it messes up my regular settings – your site looks fine to me as it is

Could we get a link to the blog you are talking about?

Flexible width themes will always expand to fill the entire width of the screen unless the theme designer specified a maximum width for the theme, which some do.

    Flexible width themes:
    Fusion
    Coraline
    Adrea
    Garland
    Fadtastic
    Rounded
    Andreas04
    Girl in Green
    Andreas09
    Rubic
    Shocking Blue Green
    Silver is the new Black
    WordPress Classic

    Hi ,
I just want my blog to fill the horizontal width of the browser window .
Not all visitors have the knowledge to use ” CTL + mouse wheel ” to adjust the horizontal width of theirs browsers , so the text seems little .
Here is the link of my blog : http://sgdalimou.wordpress.com/

    Thanks for your replay .

The text on the theme you have chosen is on the small side, but it has nothing to do with the width of the theme The text is set to a specific size in the CSS files. When you use ctrl + what you are doing is asking the browser to enlarge everything on the screen by X amount. I could make a theme 10 feet wide with text so small it would appear as just a smudge on the screen.

My suggestion is to find a theme with larger text such as twenty ten, Vigilance, Coraline, Picrow – any number of themes that have larger text than notepad.

    Hi ,

At least , now a have a starting point , to get the results I want .
As I now understand , it has to do with the text size and not with the theme template of WordPress . So I have to find a WordPress theme that supports bigger text fonts .
Just to complete my post , does WordPress.com supports custom CSS ?

    Thanks for your replay .

Yes it does, it is a paid upgrade, but with it you could increase the font size on notepad easily.
