Page loading slowly

  I use the theme visual. I have about 300 posts with soundcloud players on the home page and needless to say they load very slowly. I’d like to be able to break up the post onto different pages and display one months worth of stories at a time thinking this would help speed up the page loading. This is one solution, but am open to others to help the page load faster.

  Hey there!

  Your solution, limiting the amount of posts on your homepage, is a very good idea. I highly suggest doing so.

  To do this, click this link:
  https://ayearofsoundsandstories.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

  You currently have your front page showing up to 50 posts. You can lower that number, and save the change.

  You can also scroll down this page until you see, “To infinity and beyond.” You have your site setup to Infinite Scroll. If you turn this off, when you visitors see all the posts on your front page, they can click a link to see older posts. You may find this speeds your load time up even more.

  Thanks that did help with loading, but I am not seeing a way for viewers to get to the next page of posts like page buttons of next button.

  Actually, the button is there, but due to some color choices, it isn’t very visible! Here it is on your site, currently:

  

  So you don’t have to make any major color changes on your site, why don’t you do a minor CSS adjustment to your theme?

  If you’d like to give this a try, click Appearance → Customize in your site’s Dashboard (or click here). Then, click CSS in your right-hand menu. In the CSS Revisions box, please paste the following underneath all existing text:

  #infinite-handle span {
  background-color: #2c7881;
  }

  Then Save your changes.
