page not found for blog link and comment page?

  for some reason, today, the link to my latest
  blog post on the home page is linking to a page
  not found. and the actual posted blog (which exists!)
  won’t allow comments, going to the same page not
  found.

  i’ve tried to look this up and have found some posts
  saying its plug in related or having to do with htaccess
  file or some such?

  but i’m utterly clueless and am frustrated and don’t
  know how to fix it.

  i have recently added journalpress to have my posts
  mirrored on livejournal. i deactivated it just now and
  reposted my blog, but it still isn’t working correctly.
  help?
