My page will not load nor will links to post. My domain is masked and has been working fine. I was in my Dashboard and wanted to see the captured spam comments when I clicked on an Akismet link that show its dashboard view with no captured comments (even though the previous screen said I had 13). Now the page says it is loading and then “Done” appears in lower left corner, but page is completely blank. Are there any bugs today?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also, when I preview a new theme to troubleshoot, the preview will not even load. Help, I really don’t know what to do!

using Firefox 3.6.10 with Windows. tried it on IE and it also would not load. http://www.sugarleg.com is address that is masking http://www.sugarleg.wordpress.com.

For starters your name servers are still pointed to NS45.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS46.DOMAINCONTROL.COMThey need to point to WordPress.COM:
See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ for the full instructions. Your name servers need to be changed first.
-
thanks guys, I will try the name servers. not sure how that could have happened! sent a note to support too.

You need to change the name server pointing where you registered your domain (looks like Godaddy) before anything can be done here at WordPress.com.
Once the correct pointing of the name servers is done it can take up to 72 hours before everything settles down.
You can watch the DNS server settings spread across the globe here: http://www.whatsmydns.net/

Thanks raincoaster – I have gotten used to adding or subtracting the www depending on what site and what I am looking at that I don’t think about it much.
-
I thought I did that. this is what godaddy says:
“If you are hosting your Web site with us (you have a hosting account with us associated with this domain) or you want to Park or Forward your domain, we will automatically set your nameservers for you.
I want to park my domains.
I want to forward my domains.
I have a hosting account with these domains.
I have specific nameservers for my domains.”it auto-selected “I want to forward my domains” when I chose to “Mask With Forwarding” my domain name.
I tried ticking “I have specific nameservers for my domains” and putting in WordPress ones: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM. I also tried it the other way, putting the godaddy nameservers into the DNS on WordPress. nothing has worked since the glitch started for no apparent reason.
I am now getting to the point of total confusion.

You want the 3 WordPress.COM name servers (NS1, NS2, NS3) set at Godaddy
Then come back to your sugarleg.wordpress.com Dashboard (Settings >> Domains ) and map your sugarleg.wordpress.com site to sugarleg.com.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
And if all else fails contact Support: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
-
Edit: Spell out the WordPress name servers:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM -
gotcha, that is what I just did. :-) so irritating that all was fine and it just went poof! thank you…
-
ARGH.
error message from WP:
“We can’t save these records because they don’t look right to us. Check the errors below. Please contact support if you are unable to resolve the problem.
(1) NS1.WORDPRESS.COM (2) NS2.WORDPRESS.COM (3) NS3.WORDPRESS.COM1. This does not match any of the DNS record formats.
2. This does not match any of the DNS record formats.
3. This does not match any of the DNS record formats.”
maybe I need to wait longer…

You are welcome – good luck
PS – the WordPress.com name servers are spreading across the world as I type this.

Getting to the edge of my experience here.
But you should not be inputting NS!…etc. anywhere on your Dashboard. Should just be adding sugarleg.com into the Domain Mapping area. Then WordPress should go out and check to make sure the name sugarleg.com points to WordPress.com.
Might be a good time to ask the Staff (see link above) – they are great people.

Mike: thank you for helping! I am back and forth between here and the Support pages. have also emailed the staff, but nothing yet. I am confused as you can tell.
Raincoaster: yes, I did do that a couple weeks ago.
UPDATE: now seems to be loading, but TypeKit fonts not engaged… that is the least of my concerns now.
whew, at least I seem to be live again.
-
I’m sure it will settle down in a few hours and you can deal with the typekit issue then, if it doesn’t solve itself. I’ve done this myself and it is anxiety-making for sure!
