Page not publishing/showing when published

Please help! I’ve made a new page called ‘schools’ which has no parent on my website. I’ve published it and linked it in the menu but it won’t show up anywhere! Whenever I click the permalink or the button on the menu, it just takes me to the home page. The page doesn’t seem to exist, even though I’ve published it and have made new pages under it which do work! I’m really stuck and frustrated so please help!
