Hi there,
If you are sure you clicked to save the changes then all I can say is there are no known issues I am aware of.In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ -
I am on safari. I have emptied cache. I have checked all of the things you mentioned.
The updates are visible when I preview but not when I publish.

What are you trying to put as updates? Just text and links? If you’re trying to use code, you’ll have to paste it here between CODE tags so we can analyze it.
-
I am putting in external links – hyperlinking them. I do not know how to use code.
Thanks again. -
Hey @ucclangcent,
I was able to update the page in question after typing the word “test” right below it. I’m guessing this could be an issue specific to your browser or computer. Do you have any antivirus programs, security software, adblockers or browser extensions installed that might be causing this?
If you have any, please disable them temporarily and try making changes to the page and save it.
As a further step, you might want to try editing the page while using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. You may download their latest versions from here:
Let me know if my suggestions worked! Thanks!

Hi again,
I think the page updated – the format was messed up and I had to reformat it, but I do believe it is updated.
I think the problem is that there are two versions of the page.
http://ucclangcent.wordpress.com/2013/02/21/useful-links-for-efl-teachers-and-learners/
and
http://ucclangcent.wordpress.com/fa/
I need to delete the last one.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hey Brendan! I can see how you might have confused one page for the other. Glad to hear you were able to sort it out. Cheers!

Thanks again. I confused a page with a post. Hence, the non-updating post.
I need to learn more about WordPress.
