Page order
-
I would like to add pages *after* existing pages rather than before as is the default. Can someone tell me is this possible, and how to do it, before I commit any further. TIA for your help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages have no “order”. However the default for Posts is to show the most recent one first.
See this support article for clarification on posts vs. pages:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/Even though the default for Posts is reverse chronological this article offers some options for showing your posts in chronological order:

Thank you, I found something that says I should look for ‘page settings on editor’. I can’t find anything even remotely like the picture. Is it all different on the android tablet app, that’s what I’m using. Or am I just too old for this caper?

@quisquis666 – The Android app is more streamlined to allow users to write and post quickly. Some setting up and configuring your site can be done in the app, but it appears that creating a page order or Custom Menu needs to be done online in the New Dashboard or WP Admin.
In the app, you can access the online Admin area of your site by clicking on the link at the bottom of the Android app’s home page for your site (“View Admin”), it will open your device’s browser where you can log in to the web version and then follow the instructions mentioned in the support document https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-options/#order
Although those instructions are written for the New Dashboard, the app appears to open the WP Admin, which is somewhat similar (like a sock is similar to a boot!).

Thanks for your help here @houstonweaver and @justjennifer. Page order is definitely doable, albeit uncommon.
Jen is correct; it’s not available in the android app. You can access it in the mobile web version, though. Use the “Actions” button to find it.
I hope that helps!

@supernovia, I kinda had my brain turned inside out and handed back to me on a plate trying to work though this. :) It would be so helpful to be able to choose which Dashboard opens when clicking on the Admin link in the app, especially since most if not all the Support docs now reflect what goes on in the “new” Dashboard.

No problem, @houstonweaver :) Let us know if you have questions and what not — we’re here to help!
And @justjennifer thanks for the feedback. I doubt they’re going to offer a choice, since wp-admin would confuse a lot of folks who never used it. Most links will lead to the Calypso-esque admin interface, unless it specifically says WP-Admin.

Hi @supernovia – the only two external links I can find in the app (so far) are view site, which opens in a browser window and view admin, which leads to WP Admin after logging in. :) I did finally find my way to the Calypso dash, but it took far too many clicks to get there within the app. Thanks.
-
Ah yes, under “View External” that will take you to WP-Admin. The android interface itself is trying to be a bit calypso-ish, if that makes sense.
So you’re hoping for a browser view of the Calypso interface for things that are available in Calypso but not in the app?

Was just expecting to land in the New Dashboard after clicking view Admin in the app and logging in, but I could see how that could set some ORG users howling. :)
Like I said, I finally got to the New Dash, but it involved a lot more clicking around than I would ever want to normally do. Again, it would be nice if there was a way to indicate a preference one way or the other. Thanks for listening.

Makes perfect sense. I’ll forward that suggestion to our developers.
