Page ordering/naming/tab naming
-
Second question. I’ve seen some posts about page ordering and they don’t totally address my question. The theme I chose is MistyLook. I’d like to be able to add TABS for new pages, insted of having them listed in the columns. Is this possible? Also, there doesn’t seem to be any way to edit the home tab title. I’d like to rename that Blog and move it to the rear. I’d like my Bio/About page to be my Home page, and then some other pages with links to published work, and then finally all my ramblings. How do I move the blog to the back? If it can’t be done with this theme, are there others where this is allowed? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages on Mistylook automatically have tabs in the header. Posts do not.
You can’t edit the home tab on Mistylook.
Setting your About page as the landing page of your blog is possible, but will annoy your regular readers no end, as they will always be going to a page they already read a million times. Change the front page under Settings->General.

Thanks for the info about page ordering and moving the Home page… I think that when people visit blog sites they do expect blog content to be up front, but when they visit websites they don’t necessarily. Since I am hoping to set this up as a custom URL and have it look like a regular website with a blog, they might actually be more annoyed by having to deal with reading a blog first thing, especially if they are coming to find stuff out about my publications etc. Also, I am not sure how often I will be able to up update my blog. I can always move it back. It looks like
Awesome. I see how the tab thing works now. I didn’t notice the parent drop down before, so that’s why it wasn’t showing up. Very cool. Thanks!

Just so you know, you cannot convert a Page into a Post or vice versa; you have to cpy and paste and add tags and titles and images and so on back for EACH ONE. So make the right choice now. I’ve seen people really screw things up for themselves and end up deleting the blog.
Also: pages have no RSS feeds, so nobody will ever know when you’ve updated and your Get Email Notifications won’t work.
