Hello @emacl,
May I know how you tried to do it?
I tested Apostrophe 2 theme on my test site. Then I tried creating 3 subpages for a main page, and I was able to do it. You can check it from my test site – https://rosepajarojavolunteer.wordpress.com/ – (Category 1 is the main page).
Here’s how I did it:
1. Go to website’s Customizer. You can click here – https://wordpress.com/customize – You might need to click on the website you’re currently working on.
2. Click Menus from the left sidebar.
3. Select Primary (or whichever menu you’re working on)
4. Click Add Items button to expand option to add a new Menu.
5. Once it’s added to your Menu list, drag it with your mouse indented and under the primary menu you wanted it to show up. It should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/8dBeGDO.png
**In my sample, Standards is my Primary Menu, and Teaching for Learning and Information and Knowledge are my sub-menus. Notice that they are indented.
6. Click Save and Publish button once you’re done. You can also find more information from this link:
