page posting problem

I am still having problems posting pages. I figured most of it out but now, when I post an “about” it shows up under the main “about page” as well as creating a duplicate “about” under “pages”. Can anyone help?

Please note that there is zero reason to bump here. Remember that we are all volenteers here and help out when we are able to. All you do is insult us when you do such a thing.

Now, I’ve taken a look at your blog. I see an “About Me” page under a parent of “About.” I do not see a second “About” page. May I ask for some links to understand what the issue is?

    Thanks,

Sorry – I don’t mean to insult anyone. I just thought, since there is alot going on here on the forum, things probably just get overlooked

Take another look – I put the blog back the way I had it. There is only one “about” page in the page management area. When I delete one of the posts it deletes both of them from the blog. When I repost it, both are recreated.

    Thanks for your help

I’m not sure what you trying to get for a final solution here. Are you trying to have two About pages, one underneith the other? Are you trying to have two pages named About?

I only want one about page. When I have both the “about page” and “pages” widget on the blog, and then post an “about” page, the one post appears in both places. When I delete the about post under pages, it deletes both.

I think I understand what you’re getting at now. You’re missing seeing the “About Page” widget on your DashBoard -> Presentations -> Hemingway Options -> Hemingway’s Bottombar ™. If you look at the left column, you should see a line saying “About Page (remove)”. If you click on the remove, that’ll remove it from your front page but it’ll leave it listed within your Pages listing.

I was getting confused because I saw an “About Page” and an “About Me” page and they both had content.

Now if you want to get sneaky about this, I just discovered something which may be something you may want to do. Take yout “About” page and change it’s status to “Draft.” It’ll remove it from your Page listing but it’ll leave it on your home page if you have the “About Page” widget activated. I’m sure that that’s a bug but it may be of interest.

    Hope this helps,

Great trick – thanks a lot. I had removed and repalced that stuff in Hemmingways option a dozen times, among other things. Thanks again

Of course it’ll work like that until staff notices the bug and fixes it. :)

I was doing just that with the about page (leaving in as a draft), it worked really well, but IE it doesn’t show up at all, the about page just disappears completely.

So for now I have just have it as a page, so you have to go to that to see about me. I am not sure if I am totally happy with that. It does keep the site nice and simple which I like.

Please don’t spam the forums. Please remember that 99% of us are users like yourself here who help out when we can. :)

Well to post your pages, you do this via Dashboard -> Write -> Write Pages. It’s created just like a post.

If you have any more problems, please explain with specifics.

    Hope this helps,
