Page speed issue
-
Good Day, Community
I have a WordPress blog that has been working well for the past six months, but the problem I’m having is that while the site’s overall speed is 90+, one page is loading extremely slowly. When I used Google Pagespeed Insight to evaluate the speed, it was near 60. I’m not sure why it’s taking so long to load given there are no css or javascript issues, and the site is utilising the latest GeneratePress theme.
The page link is: https://weldempire.com/best-tig-welder-for-aluminum/
Looking for recommendations by experts.

Hi there sflwaq,
Your site https://weldempire.com is using the self-hosted installation of WordPress.org hosted elsewhere and these forums are for the sites hosted and managed here at WordPress.com which is quite different (.com vs .org).
You would probably get better help at their forums. You can find threads on this topic following this link https://wordpress.org/support/topic-tag/loading-speed/
But if you think it’s a problem with the theme, I would recommend looking for answers from their support forums.Hope this helped!

Hi there,
1.)
As mentioned, these forums are for WordPress.com managed sites.2.)
It’s a comparison page and there are many external embeds such as images and video. I guess this is what slows things down. But even with theses embeds, I’m not getting the same results as you described from the diagnostics.
I’m getting 97 on Google Pagespeed Insight for the page you mentioned.
In other bench, I’m getting 2.256 seconds for the completion of the first load, which is still considered fast given the number of embeds.

I don’t know how I can insert image in this comment. BTW, at that time on mobile I’m getting 37 speed on Google PageSpeed Insight.

Hi @sflwaq,
If you ever need to add screenshots, you can upload it to https://snipboard.io/ and then share the link in your reply.
