Page tag hidden ‘Search bar’
-
Hi, I got bored with my wordpress blog theme and decided to change it to Misty. Everything looks fine but above the header where the page tags appear, there is a Search bar that hides one of my page tags. How can I move or get rid of the Search bar? My blog url is http://mmjaye.wordpress.com. Thank you!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is exactly what I came here to ask about. I just did the same thing and have the same problem.

Thanks in advance for the help! -
I came up with a solution to this problem. It’s definitely not a high-tech one but it works (for the most part). What I did is create a new ‘bogus’ page to which I gave a title which alphabetically comes between the last page tag that shows and the one that is hidden by the Search bar. Now the Page which was hidden shows in second line of Page tags and my new ‘bogus’ page is completely hidden by the Search bar. Sounds perfect, but it’s not. The ‘bogus’ page appears in the Pages widget on the sidebar and I tried removing it by the “Exception” option given in the widget edit (I’m not sure what the word is in English as I have Greek edit pages) but it still shows. When the ‘Exception’ option requests the page ID what does it need? I tried writing both the full name and the page’s URL but it still shows on sidebar. So that’s my new problem…At least my Page tags are in order…

To excludes pages from the Pages widget, you need to first get the ID of the pages.
You can do this by going to Pages -> edit pages and hovering over the title of the page.
The status bar (on the bottom of your browser page) will show you the URL and you can write down the number at the end.
Once you have the ID numbers, go to Appearance->Widgets and edit your Pages widget. For the setting “Exclude: ” enter the IDs separated by commas, click the Change button and then Save Changes.

Thanks a lot 1Tess!
I managed to do it! Only to clarify a couple of things. You get the page URL at the status bar when you hover on the pages title in the blog itself (not when you’re in the edit page) but there is no number there. You get the number when you edit the page at the top of the screen at the end of the ‘edit’ URL. You need to type just the number in the widget. Thanks again!

Ah. Yes, you can get the ID number in the address bar when you are editing a page.
But you can find the numbers in the “edit pages” list. In the list view you can check the numbers of several pages without having to actually edit the pages individually.
At any rate, I’m glad to hear it worked for you!
