  I have set one of my pages to have just one column but a second column appears. I have double checked to ensure it’s set on one column but it still shows an image in the second. How do I get rid of the column? (It’s the PBPT Blog Page)

  We Volunteers cannot view blogs with the visibility set to private and we cannot assist with any issue we cannot lay eyes on.

  That’s the page you’ve set as your posts page. When you do that, you no longer see the original static page, you see the dynamic page that displays your latest posts. To get rid of the sidebar on dynamic pages, you need to go to Appearance > Theme Options and select the no-sidebar layout.
