Page title appears at the top of my blog

    I recently started using the Dig3 theme. I made some modifications to the CSS to change the appearance. I recently created an informational page which I linked to from a specific entry. The problem is that the page’s title appears as a link on the top of the blog in every view. A feature or a bug. Either way, I’d like to eliminate it. Can someone help me? I’m assuming that there is an easy CSS tweak, but being unschooled in CSS, I can’t figure out what it is, and before I embark on trial and error, I thought I’d seek a quick fix from an expert.

    If this isn’t clear, please visit my site and look at the very top, above the header and to the immediate right of the home and about buttons. The unwanted text/link is “getting serious with Waterblogged.info:Desalination.

    Thank you.

    The problem is simple to rectify. Instead of posting into a post -> Write -> Post you have posted onto a page -> Write -> Page. To rectify this simply copy and paste the contents you placed onto the Page into a new Post and then delete the page.

    There is a distinct difference between Pages and Posts http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/11/a-post-and-a-page/

    Only one page (usually the front page but this can be changed) in a blog is dynamic. That means only one page will automatically update displaying every published post you make with the most recent post on top.

    All other Pages tabbed along the top of your blog are meant to be for static content that rarely, if ever, changes. These static Pages sit outside the blog structure so they do not automatically update. The only way to change the contents on them is by editing.

    Pages cannot have Categories assigned to them. Pages do not get the same Google juice that the posst on the front page of your blog do.

    HTH :)

    unfortunately, it’s impossible to remove out view an individual page from the navigation bar — it’s either all or nothing.

    not sure if this what you really want to but to hide all pages tabs except for the Home tab link you can add the following rules at the bottom of CSS:
    li.page_item { display:none; }

    to remove pagebar altogether with ear-looking Home tab use this rule:
    div#menu { display:none; }

    optionally, you can display links to your Pages via apropriate sidebar widget.
