Page title font size mobile

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!

    Can anybody please help me..!?

    This is my first post in a forum. Usually I am trying everything to solve a problem on my own but now I couldn’t find an answer in any other forum, and also tried some CSS in my child theme but it didn’t work.

    So my problem is the size of the page title on mobile versions of the page.
    For example the page title (title_subtitle_holder) of the CATEGORIES page as well as the ABOUT page should be 60px in height like it is on Desktop.

    But when I test the site on mobile, the page title (e.g. category or about) is waaaay too small! I meant like really tiny!!

    I am using the Qode Bridge theme.

    In the backend I an only adjust the size of Responsive Headings (H1-H6) but not the size in px for responsive Page Title!!

    Can someone please help me by supplying a CSS or another option to change that, I am really on a dead end here…

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi there, to change the page title sizes on mobile devices, would require the WordPress.com Premium Plan upgrade, which includes the Custom Design feature and the ability to add custom CSS.

    You can try out and preview custom CSS before you buy as explained here. This would be the code.

    .wf-active .page .entry-title {
      font-size: 60px;
    }

    The reason that the font for page titles gets smaller on mobile devices is that they have limited screen size, and with a 60px font size, the visitor is only going to see the huge title when they go to one of your pages and have to swipe down quite a bit in order to get to the content. The designers always give content the highest priority.

    Thanks a lot for your fast response Mr. Happiness Engineer! I appreciate it!

    Unfortunately the code was not working. (I guess the path is maybe incorrect for my theme because Firebug is telling me that .entry-title is the title of my post and the page title is just .title .. but I am not certain about that!)

    Anyway, your explanation about title size on mobiles helped a lot!
    Finally the solution was just a little switch in the Qode (Theme) Options that says “Title Size”. Changing it from “Large” to “Medium” solved the issue.

    So thank you for your input, now I am happy! :)

    Hmmm, can you verify the URL of the site you are wanting help with? The site linked to your username hasn’t had any activity since 2014.

    Yes you are right, that was just for fun back in 2014!
    Now I am helping a friend building websites. Unfortunately I can’t link the page yet because it is hostet by him on a password protected server along with some other pages and it is not public yet.
    In a few days we will move the site and I will provide the link!

    It sounds like the site is using WordPress but not hosted here at WordPress.com. For self-hosted WordPress sites, I would suggest asking for help from the theme and/or plugin author directly or ask in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums.

    The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

    Oh, I am sorry! I didnt know that I am not supposed to ask in this forum. Thanks for the explanation and your help anyways! :)
