page turning into post
-
I’m using the online version of wordpress.
I’ve been trying to make a subpage on a main page. I’ve done this many times before, but all of a sudden, my subpage started to turn into a post once its published. I don’t know why this is happening, considering a clicked ‘add page’ and selected the page i would want this subpage to be on. but once you go to the website, it’s a post.
Someone please help me! I’ve been having a lot off issues with wordpress thus far and it’s really frustrating to figure this out on your own.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s very strange. What is the title please?
Are you using the Beep Beep Boop editor?
If so, then have you tried using the classic editor instead?
Dashboard > Pages > Add New

The title of the subpage I want to make is Wellness, under the main page “My Practicum Experience”
I believe I am using that editor. My screen looks like this:

I’m having the exact opposite problem – my posts turn into pages. Kindof going crazy.
And I don’t have the option of using the classic editor, which I prefer. Please help!

@bigheartsblog
We can all use the classic editor. To create a Page we go Dashboard > Pages > Add New
http://bigheartsblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=page
To create a Post we go Dashboard > Posts > Add New

I’m multitasking from my business were it’s very busy today. Staff will respond to this thread as soon as they can and help you. -
Thank you timethief for the link to the classic version, but I can’t seem to find “dashboard” when I don’t follow your link.
I know what it looks like because I’ve had another blog for a while, and I just can’t seem to get there on my own.
Now that you’ve given me the link, I managed to publish the post as a post, but how will I manage on my own? -
Hey, I was wondering the same thing as well, but I found that if i type in my blog address, and then type /wp-admin OR /dashboard, it takes me to the classic editor page.
For example, to get you your page, this is exactly what i would type in the address bar:http://bigheartsblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
OR
http://bigheartsblog.wordpress.com/dashboardThere I don’t have any problems creating subpages. Hope that helps! I’m not sure if there is any easier way to get to the classic editor, but for the time being, this isn’t a bad solution!

The Dashboard link for every WordPress.com hosted blog is easy to memorize:

Thanks guys!
Definitely made life easier… But why have the new editor if it works so badly?
Anyway thank you again :)

Hi folks, sorry you’ve had some trouble with this!
If you create your page from wordpress.com/page or create a post from wordpress.com/post the type will stay. You’re also welcome to bookmark a link to wp-admin’s editor and use that.
Also, we have seen some issues with subpages in the Beep Beep Boop editor. Those will be resolved shortly.
