page visibility doesn't work on mobile

Hi! I’m having trouble with password protected pages on mobile (both iOS and Android). Entering the password works fine on desktop, but doing so on mobile simply reloads the page with a blank password box. I thought it was a theme issue, so I tried multiple themes (Affinity, Sela, and Pique). As far as I know I don’t have any additional plugins installed. How can I get password protected pages to work on mobile? Thanks!

Hi there, for help with the WP mobile apps, please head over to their support page here: https://apps.wordpress.com/support/
Those forums use the ORG log-in so if you don’t have an ORG username you can register one directly on the forum page.

Thanks for your response! I’m not using a WP mobile app– the issue is when folks try to view the website from a mobile device using whatever browser is on their phone or tablet.
Should I still go over to the app forum? If so, I’m happy to do that and thank you for the redirection. Sorry for not being clear in my question; I just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

@graceachen, I’ve tried password protected pages on two themes, in two mobile browsers. I see the same results in each, and the password is working for me.
Which post or page on your site is giving you trouble? If it would help, we could test that.

Hi @supernovia! All of the password-protected pages on our site are giving us trouble on mobile (we’ve replicated this in iOS and Android, and on multiple browsers, but some phones seem immune), but working fine on desktop.
I’d be happy to DM you the password so you can test it out if there’s a way to do so (I’d rather not change it because visitors are currently using it to access the site on laptop/desktop).
One thing I did just discover is that the password-protected pages seem okay if I enter the site by typing aaronandgraceblog.wordpress.com into my mobile browser. However, if I type the link we’re publicly sharing with visitors (aaronmitchell.graceachen.com), password-protected pages only work on laptop/desktop. Could it be a problem with the way we’re redirecting? Thanks!

Ah, yes, definitely. You’re using a framed redirect, which can cause all sorts of problems. I wasn’t aware you were using one.
Try mapping the subdomain instead:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/ -
