page visibility password reset

I am trying to change the password on my protected posts, but it keeps coming back to the original one and not allowing me to change that password at all. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in to see if that helps. I have made other edits to the post to see if it takes the change that way. I have set it to public, updated, then set it protected, typed in the password I wanted, and updated. Nothing seems to work and I don’t want that password to be the main password for others. Please help.

This is strange! I was just able to change the password on one of my test posts successfully. Can you try can clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?
Then try setting a password again. Let me know how that works out!

Unfortunately, I tried that, closed my browser, reopened it and it still didn’t work. I finally was able to do it by opening a completely different browser. The original browser was Chrome and the secondary one was Firefox. It may be because I don’t save any info on Firefox?
A follow up question that came up after I was able to change the password on my post is are you able to have different passwords for different posts? I saw that once I changed the password for one post, it seemed to change it for all of the posts. Since, in this case, that was what I wanted, it was fine, but I may want different passwords for different posts in the future, so I didn’t know if there was a way to change that. I noticed that you can have separate passwords for different pages, though. So, worst case scenario there is a work around. Still, a little inconvenient.

It must be something with your cache since it worked on Firefox.

Yes. I just tested this and was able to have different passwords for different posts.

I just don’t know how to fixed the cache problem, since I cleared all the data and the issue still occurred? Signing in from a new browser seems like a silly fix to have to do that every time.
Logged out of Firefox, logged in again, changed the password on only one post, and it didn’t change the subsequent posts this time. So, that must have just been a weird one time glitch. Thanks for your help, Grace.
