Page with “Latest Posts” section won’t save if I add a Category

    I am new to WordPress. I created some categories so I could categorize my post types. I created a Page and added a “Latest Posts” section. I can save the page like that but if I edit the “Latest Posts” and add one of the Categories I created the Page won’t save and I get the following error:
    “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

    This is a Bluehost site that I just bought and set up today.
    Any ideas what might be causing the issue and how to fix it?

    We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to provide support. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.
