Pages & Linking…
-
I’m sure this has been asking many times and I do apologize for asking it again. I searched the forums and I have successfully linked some of my posts to certain pages. But there is a “Page” header under Manage Pages that has an About me section that I would like to add other posts to that Parent header. But I cannot find a way to link them or heck, even add a post to that section at all.
I’m not computer saavy so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

If you click on the title of the About page you can edit it. Or if you write new pages, you can set the About page as the Parent Page and then use the Pages widget in your sidebar to display the page hierarchy.

Yes, I think that is what I’d to do, have the About Page as the Parent. But when I click on the “About” post and scroll down to “Page Parent”, it states “Main Page, no parent”. How do I make that the parent?

I’m afraid you’re still somewhat confused as to what a post, a page, a link etc. is – for starters, check the following:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/11/a-post-and-a-page/If I understand correctly, you want to add entries (outside the date-dependent sequence of posts) that will show up under “Pages” in your sidebar. If that’s the case, go to Write>Page (once you publish such a page, it will also show in Manage>Pages). If I have misunderstood, please clarify!
As for parent pages, you don’t do anything (“no parent” doesn’t mean such a page is not a parent, it means it HAS no parent). The child-pages is what you have to set, by selecting the appropriate parent page for them (don’t forget to click “Save” after you do that).

Panaghiotisadam, thanks so much for the link. I’ll def check it out. I’m what you would call, technically challenged. lol
I did add pages already. I just wanted to add more pages to show up under the About Me page, to be in the same column, but not under the Monthly posts that I do. If that makes sense. IDK….I’m still new to WP and blogging as a whole so I’m trying to figure everything out. Hopefully I’ll figure it out. Thanks

Nope, I figured out how to make a Parent page and have child pages but that’s not what I was hoping to do. Darn it. LOL Back to square one. =P

Ok, like I said before…technically challenged. I finally figured it out. That link above helped clarify things a bit better! Thanks again!
