  Howdy juliacakesculptress!
  Are you trying to set up your About Page with your Home Page Content?
  If so your Home Page content seems to be a Post and your About Us page seems to be a Page, to know the difference have a look at this Posts Vs Page
  You can set up your Pages and Posts separately and Link it to your Menus
