pages and categories

I am editting a page and any image that I post for the first time duplicates in that page, one larger and one smaller size. How can I fix that?
my secodn question is that do you suggest or is it better to use categories or pages if want to have classified information? I want to have a page ‘project’ that includes ‘architecture’ and ‘urban design’ items, and the items in each of these two would be also in the ‘project’ page. I asked this question couple of times here and still did not get an answer.
Thanks -
Hi @sarasaghafii, it’s hard to tell without looking at the site, but it sounds like theme setting. Try checking Customize > Content options and adjusting the featured image settings.

Are you using Portfolio items? We’ve got some tips on organization here:
https://wordpress.com/support/portfolios/making-the-most-of-your-portfolio/#organizing-your-workIf not, could you send a link to the site so we’ve got more context?

Thank you for providing the link, however, we are still not able to find an example that you have described. Could you send us a link to a specific example?
If you have already resolved the problem, let us know. :)

Thanks, still not know the solution.
For example I have this post:
https://sarasaghaficom.wordpress.com/2020/09/15/factory-futures/I want its thumbnail (and the link embedded in the image, so that by clicking on the image you get to the project explanation) to be included in the project page, and also in the architecture page, which is subset of my project. How would I do that?

Now it just appears as a post, together with my blog post, this is an example site:
You have a thumbnail of works, and when you click on each, it gets you to the page related to that specific project.
I want to make something similar and at the same time, have projects divided into architecture and urban. -
You have a slideshow there, which can’t be linked elsewhere, but if you post the images individually, you can: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/

I still cannot find the answer to my question. It’s been almost two weeks.
I’ll explain what I want again:
I want my project page to have thumbnails of projects (which are divided into architecture and urban design). By clicking on each thumbnail, you get to the page that contains more images and description of that projects. You can either have access to that project through “project” page, or find it on either “architecture” or “urban design” pages.
What I tried was to make a post for a project and try to link it (by adding block in the “project” page) which did not work or I don’t know yet how to do that. Is this format that I am looking for this complicated to be made with WordPress?
If not, could you please help me with that directly and without extra links, as the ones that are already sent to me never helped?
I have still many more questions and I am wondering why the WordPress interface is this complicated compare to similar websites such as Wix or Sqaurespcae.
This the sample of the website that I explained regarding the projects:

Since you are setting up a portfolio site, as was mentioned previously you may want to consider themes we offer that are specific to that kind of site. We have several here that may be a good place to start: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/subject:portfolio
If you prefer to use your current theme, you can instead manually set up a “grid” of choices by using the Columns Block. There is an example given here for adding an image block in each column, and then linking that image to your project pages: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/
