Pages and menus

  • Unknown's avatar

I already typed my question and it has disappeared. So here I go again. I use Adelle. In the black strip at the top of the blog I have had my pages listed. Tonight I made one of them into a custom menu. Then I tried to add a new custom menu. Now the black strip at the top of the blog is missing and I can’t get it back

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

First of all, here’s the documentation page for creating Menus:

    Menus

It seems to me that you’ve managed to create the menu, but have yet to put it on the right location (find “Theme Locations” on that doc page).

Or perhaps you’ve added the menu items, but forgot to save. I’ve done that many times in the past!

If you’re following the documentation page carefully, I’m sure your menu will show up correctly there.

Thanks. You guys are magic. But I’m scared to go the next step. Yes – the pages are listed correctly along the top (By the way what is that top black line called?) but now the pages are also listed in the side with the other widgets. You are very patient with an old guy (71) only blogging on wordpress since feb.

Don’t worry, I fixed it myself. Cool
Thanks again Is this called a hug.
My sister makes me give her hugs.

    Sorry, It’s me again.
In the process of fixing up the menu widget(if that’s what it’s called) I have lost the “home” button. How can I get it back/?

You can add a “Home” menu item like you add any other menu items. If you see the screenshot here:

    Menus

There should be a “Home” option on yours also, that you can then add to your menu.
