Pages and tabs on header
-
I have tabs on my blog that list certain posts I have made. I do not want those tabs there. I found out that the tabs were made in the pages section of the dashboard. How can I delete these posts out of pages without deleting the blog posts off my blog. I just want the tabs gone from the header portion of the page. Thanks, Gwen
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there will you please post the URL for the blog in question starting with the http:// prefix? Once you do that we will be able to give you a correct answer for the software you use.
If you are referring to a free blog being free hosted by wordpress.COM then you can link your wordpress.COM username to it so this delay doesn’t happen when you post to the forum. If that’s the case, it’s easy to do.
Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to ‘Account Details’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Setting that side it’s important to know that we can post to ONLY ONE page in a blog. That’s normally the front page but we can change it by creating another static page and changing which one displays ALL post we publish here > Settings > Reading.
Page tabs only appear not result when one creates static pages and does not “hide” them. Now that you have created static pages instead of posts, I’m sorry to say that there is no automatic way to transfer content. You will have to copy and paste the content you published on static pages into new posts if you want them to gain search engine attention the way published posts in conventional blogs do.
If you don’t care about getting backlinks and you don’t care about your blog achieving a PageRank then you could leave them as static pages and simply “hide” the pages.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/I think you will benefit from reading these support entries I link to below before you make your decision, as I think you will want to be crystal clear on the differences between static pages, which are meant to be used for static content that rarely if ever changes, sit outside the blog structure, cannot have categories & tags assigned to them, do not appear in RSS feeds, lack date stamps in their URLs, and are lacking in “Google juice” and Google juicy posts.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/I hope this helps and could have provided a more specific answer if you had posted your URL and I could see your blog and take note of which theme you are using. Some new themes at wordpress.COM have a feature called “menus” that offer another alternative. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

Thanks,. Sorry about the not listing my URL. I thought it would show up when I posted my question. I copied and posted the same pages and deleted the ones in the “Pages” category. Thanks so much for your help

Hi Gwen,
You’re welcome. This is a clickable URL and we need them to save time for us and for you too ;) > http://dusterbin.wordpress.com/ The theme you are using is Regulus and it does not have a custom menu feature as yet. It also has header tab that cannot be removed as it’s coded into the template. Best wishes with your blogging.
