Pages: cant see pictures

  • Unknown's avatar

Suddenly I am not able to see the pictures in the pages on my blog.
The posts seems ok, but not the pages. The pictures are viewable in the media library.
I normally use the online editing or BlogpadPro app on ipad.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have the same problem. Pictures load and then WordPress seems to put a little something in front of their urls and they’re broken.

Some readers in my country are able to see the pictures though.
I myself am not, not in Chrome, not in Safari, not in Preview of the blog. Not with or without an add blocker and another person in my house sees broken pictures also.

    my blog is marvelknits.wordpress.com

this is the url of a picture, i1.wp.com is put in front of it when I inspect the element and looks weird to my untrained eye.
    img src=”https://i1.wp.com/images4.ravelrycache.com/uploads/snorrepot/297333014/image_medium2.jpg” width=”478″ height=”640″ class=”alignnone” srcset=”https://i1.wp.com/images4.ravelrycache.com/uploads/snorrepot/297333014/image_medium2.jpg

    thank you for any updates.

    disregard last post.

One of the images that is being requested has this URL (in the Chrome dev console):
    https://i2.wp.com/images4-d.ravelrycache.com/uploads/snorrepot/292537834/image_medium2.jpg&zoom=2
(notice the ampersand, which should probably be a question mark)

The response is a 400 Bad Request with the following body:

Error 0002. The type of image you are trying to process is not allowed.

The blog http://www.talord.wordpress.com was originaly made as a copy and exported from my previous blog http://www.malueam.wordpress.com.
I have deleted the old blog, and used the new blog for several weeks.
HOW ITS POSSIBLE that almost all pictures suddenly change the adress from “talord” to “malueam” is a mystery to me???
    i.e:
    <span style=”font-family:Georgia;font-size:14px;”><img title=”cli” src=”http://malueam.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/cli.png” alt=”” width=”300″ height=”200″ /></span>

Thus I must change every adress on all the pictures back to “talord”
    manually. Really NICE!

    @snorrepot

I believe your issues were different and related to code changes we implemented:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pictures-from-an-extern-url-not-showing-in-posts?replies=12#post-2354442

    @nonmalueam

I believe your issues relate to the export/import process. For example, I see the error you mention here:

    https://talord.wordpress.com/2015/03/05/landscape-is-opening/

The image that is not loading has this source URL:

    https://malueam.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/view.jpg?w=554&h=707

Even though that image exists in your media library here:

    https://talord.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/view.jpg

The reason why is that when you did the Import, the post did not replace the ‘malueam’ URL with the ‘talord’ URL because that image was not attached to the post:

So the importer did not know to switch out the code for you. It just kept the same HTML that was there before, which happened to be an img in the ‘malueam’ media library.

This is why some images on your site are still working (the ones that were attached to pages/posts) and some are not.

The ‘malueam’ source URLs continued working after your Import, so you wouldn’t immediately notice they were pointing to an outside side, not to your media library. But once you deleted your old site, and your browser caching went away, the images appeared dead as they are.

The only fix I can recommend is to edit posts where the images do not appear correctly, remove the broken image URL, and add the image from your media library instead.
