Pages don’t work well

  • Unknown's avatar

I have 3 pages on the website: homepage, contact, and about. When I click on ‘contact,’ it directs me to the ‘about’ page, but if I click ‘edit,’ it takes me to the correct page. I’ve tried deleting both pages and recreating them, but it still gives the same issue.
Does anyone know what can be done about this?

  • Hi there! I had a look at your site, and I think I understand where the problem is. It looks like you have added your “About” introduction image and text into the “Page template” which applies to all pages.

I checked your “About” page in edit mode, and it looks like the content you have added there is similar, but not quite identical, to the text in your Page template, for reference! Therefore, in order to fix this I suggest:

    1. Go to Appearance > Editor and when the Site Editor opens, choose Templates > Page in the left panel. This will take you to the Page template, where you’ll see that About text and photo.
    2. Remove the ‘About’ title, text and the photo from that template, and replace them instead with:
      • “Post Title” block to show the title of the page
      • “Post Content” block, to show the content (text/images)
    3. When ready, save the changes

This should mean that when you next visit both your About and Contact pages, you’ll see them in the same way as when you edit them.
