pages in dashboard do not appear properly

  It seems that some settings have been probably messed up. First, when I press menu from the dashboard the default menu page does not appear but instead a page for creating custom menu appears, which also is dim and not operable. Also, when I open the edit page of a page the right sidebar and all the options (assigning parents, etc) have dissapeared. Can anybody offer any advice? Thank you

  When you say “Menu” do you mean Dashboard>Appearance>Menus? That is where one creates a Custom Menu. It will be dim until you give your Custom Menu a name. Only after that will it become “operable”.

  About the Page Editor, if the Page Attributes module has disappeared, check the tab in the upper right corner of your screen for “Screen Options” and make sure the module is checked as an option. It may also have repositioned itself under the writing section of the Editor.

  Thank you justjennefer. You are right, this is what I meant by “Menu”, I proceeded and made a custom menu and works fine.
  The screen options is different in the various pages, I should have picked this up, Its OK now.
