Pages in menu bar
-
Why do I have two home pages showing on my menu bar? All along only one showed; then when I started moving posts to pages, the second home page appeared–with the posts (which I had hidden). Today I deleted all the old posts, but the second home page still shows up–this time empty. What gives? How do I get rid of that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. You cannot “edit” the front page. You either leave it as the front page of the blog or you create a static front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
To deal with your 2 home pages issue create a custom menu and include your own Home page and any other pages and items you want in the menu, save the menu, and then from the “primary location” pulldown in the theme location module at upper left on the menu page, select your custom menu name and then click save.

Thanks, timethief,
I have hidden one “home” page on my custom menu–and it STILL shows up on the page menu! Now what?

OK, scratch the last query, I got it resolved. I had to re-set the static home page. Phew!

I am trying to set up a home page, for which I am supposed to navigate to Pages>>Add New on my dashboard. Where on my dashboard do I find “Pages”?
-
Dashboard > Pages
see http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
You can click Pages → Add New in your dashboard. -
