Pages not displaying on Mobile for Independent Publisher theme

I am currently running the Independent Publisher theme. There seems to be no way to navigate to my pages from a mobile browser. They display as a sidebar on my desktop browsers, but they are nowhere to be found when viewed on my iPhone or iPad. How can I make them display on mobile?

It looks like you have not set a menu to be a primary menu yet.
If you take a look at the theme demo at https://independentpublisherdemo.wordpress.com/, you’ll notice the “menu” section in the upper right hand corner of the site. That menu will display on desktop or on mobile. You’ll want to set up the menu based on the instructions at https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Currently, you set up a menu in the widget sidebar area, which works fine on desktop, but when viewed on mobile, that menu drops to the very bottom of your site (so it will only be viewable after you scroll through ALL of your content). Once you add the top menu, it’s up to you if you want to keep the menu in the sidebar or not.

Similarly, I am interested in displaying the social icons as they appear on the Independent Publisher theme in the header. I’ve found the support page for adding the social media widget, but it treats it like a sidebar much like the menu was. Any thoughts on where I might look for this?

Take a look at this post for setting up the social menu.
Specifically, selecting the “social links menu” will be the key to making it show up in the correct spot (the first animated gif on that post).
You’ll build out that menu using your links to your social media platforms and WordPress will put the icons in automatically.
