Pages Option Missing from Dashboard and Admin Navigation Menu
-
I was away for a while. When I went to amend a page on my wordpress blog I found the option for Pages was missing from the admin navigation menu? In other words, there is no way to modify existing pages? Can anyone tell me how I can I fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
1. Try using the Classic Editor rather than the new one (the beep beep boop). To access the older one from the new one, click in the top left on “My Sites” and find your blog’s Dashboard. Click on Dashboard and there should be a Page icon on the left-side.
2. It may also be a browser issue. Try these options here:
a. Clearing your browser cache and cookies
b. Using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
c. Updating the browser to the latest stable version http://browsehappy.com/
d. Confirming third party cookies is enabled on the browser
e. Confirming JavaScript is enabled and updated.
http://www.enable-javascript.com/
f. Confirming Flash is updated and if required installing the latest version of Flash
g. Resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in

—>Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
h. Try another browser
I. Restart the computer and try logging in under a secure https:// -
Thank you.
I should have realised to try another browser! I had been using Chrome – I’ve just discovered it works perfectly with Internet Explorer. I’ll check another time how I can get it working in Chrome – right now I’m just glad to be able to make the changes I want on my site!
Thank you.

My problem is back! Now, neither Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer will show me the pages option down toe left-hand side of the navigation bar.
After posting the last day, changing to Internet Explorer resolved the issue in that pages did appear as an option in that browser and I could amend the page I wanted. But now all three browsers are giving the same problem. I have followed the suggestions from (a) to (i) above without success. Can anyone help me? Support is closed for another three days. -
Here’s the reply that I post which pcosta88 has cribbed from above. Note 6.
Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
Now, neither Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer will show me the pages option down toe left-hand side of the navigation bar.
Which versions of those browsers did you try?
Go to http://friendsofnano.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page
Do you find Pages you have created there?
-
Yes. Thank You. However, I the Blog I amworking on is my second Blog, gospelchoircarlow.wordpress.com and it won’t work for that one. And when I transfer to the Gospel Choir blog from the Friends of nano blog, the pages option doesn’t appear on the dashboard for the Gospel Choir Blog! And the shortcut you gave, with gospelchoircarlow replacing friends of nano brings me to the dashboard but without the pages option!
Google Chrome Version 37.0.2062.120 m
Firefox Version 32.0.1
Explorer Version 11.0.9600.17280 -
When I type in
https://gospelchoircarlow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page and press return I am asked to sign in.When I sign in I get a page with only the words ‘cheatin’ uh’

The options Media, Links, Appearance and Users are also missing from the navigation bar down the left-hand side

That error message only appears if you don’t have third-party cookies enabled on your browser. Without cookies, you won’t have the proper credentials to make changes to your blog and some of the features will not be available to you. Would you please make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled on your browsers?
-
Third part cookies are allowed in all browsers at present; problem persists. The same problem does not arise on my other site, friendsofnano.wordpress.com – only on gospelchoircarlow.wordpress.com
Thanks for your patience.

Is http://gospelchoircarlow.wordpress.com registered under the same username account as http://friendsofnano.wordpress.com is registered under? If it isn’t registered under the same username account then that’s the source of your issue. You have to log out of one account, clear your browser cache http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then log in under the username account that registered the other blog.

Thank You.
Logging in using my Username rather than my email address worked for me after clearing the cache again.
Thanks for being so generous with your time. I really appreciate this.
