Pages, posts and menus

    Hello,
I’ve just set up a blog and I have a two questions to which I cannot find an answer (that is clear or that I understand).
Firstly, I have two “Home” pages appearing on the blog site but in my control panel, in pages, only one appears.
Secondly, I don’t have a clue what menus are supposed to do for me. I’m following instructions but I don’t understand what any of it means. What I’m trying to accomplish essentially is to be able to select the page under which the posts shall appear depending on the post topic.
    Please help me !!
    Thank you for your time.

  • Pages are a form of content, like posts, so they can’t contain posts. Instead, I recommend using your categories and category archive pages.

As for the two Home pages, one is a virtual page designed to show your blog posts. It can’t be edited, but it can be reassigned following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
