Pages tabs in Header in new theme are toooooo light!

    Help 8-(

I might have just made a bad error in switching to a new theme, CHATEAU, from my previous theme (as of half an hour ago), CHOCO.

There may be other issues that I don’t immediately see, but right now I see that the six Pages tabs at the top of the page are in a light, fade-into-the-background grey, and I was used to and liked the bold, black Pages that showed up in CHOCO.

Please, can you tell me how I can get those top six Pages tabs to be a darker, more stand-out color? How can I do this? Do I have to buy HTML and then learn HTML? 8-(

    So switch back to Choco.

To get them darker, learn CSS and buy the custom design upgrade.

Oh God. I spent a bunch of time re-aligning all the wiidgets in the Chateau theme.

I changed from Choco to Chateau because I like the incorporation of the italics for the quotes.

I could get really excited about Pull Quotes and go and get really silly and switch to 2011, but I like the lovely, lovely, interesting look of Chateau.

How hard is it to learn to change the color of the Page tabs using the custom design upgrade? If I buy it, can I ask the forum what to do?

Yes, you can ask here in the CSS forum and we can help you change the color. You change themes quite often, so do keep in mind that any changes made with CSS to one theme will not work on another. CSS is theme specific so whatever changes you would want to have on the new theme would have to be rewritten for the new theme.

Holy smoke, I came back to ask a question and I see you already partly answered it!!!

My question was: If I buy that $30 CSS kit, will it be good forever? Meaning, will it be usable for any other theme I change to? Because you are right: I change themes quite a bit. I read somewhere that a blog should be reliably the same in its appearance because it somehow makes it seem more like “home” to viewers, but there is a large part of me that is curious eager to try new themes. I like the idea of changing the look of things.

I am going to check out the CSS forum. If I buy the upgrade CSS kit, do I do it with a Visa?

By the way, I think that the newest MANIFEST theme is so elegantly, exquisitely gorgeous in its classic simplicity.

    SacredPath,

I just now went scouting around to find the CSS Forum and clicked the top post just to see how the questions are answered, and whaddaya know…. you were the first responder.

From the looks of it, since you actually show what is to be done rather than just say what has to be done, it looks like maybe I could handle it. And $30 seems like a fair price for the CSS upgrade kit.
