    Hi,

Actually your pages, such as “About me” and “My Bucket List” do look rather like your posts (blogs) such as “My Bucket List” and “Welcome to My Site.” What kind of changes to the pages do you have in mind?

so they appear in my my page section and in blogs?

What is your page section? A page can not appear in a post. Not sure what you mean.

Thank you for your reply. “My Bucket list” was written as blog and as a page- I basically done it twice (c+p page content into a draft blog.
“About me” is a page – doesn’t appear under “Blog”.
By pages I mean like pages under “Destinations” tab.
So, does it mean if I want something to appear under “Destinations” and also under “Blogs” I have to copy and paste the content for both?
    Thank you for your help

Further to the above, basically I would like the pages so things under “Destinations” tab to be like blogs so I can tag them etc.
Now when i create a blog from draft it automatically gets saved under blog tab.
Or is there a way to choose where to save blogs?
    Thanks

I am also having a problem with adding an additional blog page. The website already has a default blog page but I want two on my website. How do I allow a “page” to become a blog page?

    Eva,

    Thanks for the explanations.

“About me” is a page – doesn’t appear under “Blog”.

The “Blog” menu item links to the posts or blog page. This page will only display your latest posts. It can’t display pages. However, you may if you would like to “nest” other items below “Blog,” as described in the Changing the Order & Creating Sub-Menus section of the Custom Menus support page. You may add any menu item below another menu item, and the links will work provided that all of the link URLs are valid. However, placing a static page under a top level menu item labeled “Blog” would tend to confuse your visitors.

So, does it mean if I want something to appear under “Destinations” and also under “Blogs” I have to copy and paste the content for both?

No. You may add links to the same post or page multiple times in a custom menu, placing them under any menu item.

Further to the above, basically I would like the pages so things under “Destinations” tab to be like blogs so I can tag them etc.

A menu consists only of links. Adding a link to a menu can not change what is capable of its content type (such as post, page, portfolio project, testimonial). You can not add tags or categories to static pages. Pages are not dated, and typically don’t display the author name.

Now when i create a blog from draft it automatically gets saved under blog tab.
Or is there a way to choose where to save blogs?

A new post will always be added to the posts or blog page, which will display all of your posts in reverse chronological order.

However, although you must have a page assigned as your posts page, you needn’t have a menu item that links to it. Instead, you could create a series of menu items each of which link to posts of a certain category. This is accomplished with category pages. See the Category Pages support page.

    Pages are not dated

I mean that like the author name, the publish date isn’t displayed on the visible page, unless added to the page content.

    @ leilegoreil,

How do I allow a “page” to become a blog page?

A WordPress.com site may have only one blog page. It is not possible to have two or more. However, the ability to add links to Category Pages in a Custom Menu may be used to create the illusion of having more than one blog page.

Hi! I wanted to try out a new blog theme – Rowling. But my blog (https://mysilverstreaks.com/) has a novel type story as well which I am posting under Pages (nearing 100 chapters). While trying out the Rowling theme, I couldnt quite make out where these Pages would feature. Could you help me with this? Or suggest an alternate theme which would be best suited for both Posts and Pages. Thanks for your help

    Hi Dahlia,

If you assign a parent page to a group of your chapters, then you could add the [child-pages] shortcode to automatically display a listing of the chapters. More information on that shortcode can be found here:

    List Pages Shortcode

Similarly, some of our themes have a special “Grid Page” template that can be used to nicely display any page’s children. You can find examples on the following theme’s demo sites:

Hope that helps! If you have extra questions on the above the please can you start a new thread on this forum? You can do that here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/themes#postform

It’s easier for us to keep track of different questions if they’re kept to separate threads and also prevents the original poster from receiving unnecessary email notifications.
