pages visibility to password protected
-
On my wordpress blog I have set some pages visibility to password protected
but no one other than myself can view the page with this password. What am I doing wrong? -
Hi there!
Could you share a link to such a page? We’ll be happy to have a look.
Bear in mind that the site koffieklets490681761.wordpress.com was created under a different account than the one you’re using to post here. It’s best if you reply from the account that owns it to continue. Thanks! -

I tested it further and if someone entered the password before then it works in Safari, but for a new user it does not work on chrome and not on safari.

Hello there,
Ok that’s interesting – in Chrome, are there error messages that are present when a password is entered?
Also, has a cache flush of the browser solved this issue?
Many thanks in advance.

It is not only with me but I hear that this problem occurs with people who visit my website. Until now I found that people who use firefox do not experience any problems. I myself cannot open it in Chrome, but I can open it in safari with the password, but I also heard from people that it does not open on safari.

No error message appears. In safari, the people who enter the password are linked to the home page of the site or they are asked to enter the password again. The blog was created in firefox, could this be the problem?
-
I have been testing this on my site, and I’m not able to reproduce this. The password page works correctly under any browser.
Are you copy-pasting the password or typing it each time? Could there be a typo that’s not allowing you to access your page?
-
We tried with copy paste of the password and with typing. The problem mainly occurs with other people who want to view the page. They pointed out the problem to me because they could not access the page with the password. Not with the mobile phone and not with the browser on the (apple) computers.

Hello there,
Hmm…
They pointed out the problem to me because they could not access the page with the password.
So what are they seeing exactly, when they visit the page, and have not yet entered in the password?
If you’re able to obtain and share a screenshot, that would be most useful.
Many thanks in advance.

I posted the photos here https://koffieklets490681761.wordpress.com/probleem/
The password is photo

Is only one post affected? I was able to open that article in an incognito browser window, in Chrome, without any trouble.

All posts under ‘extra questions’ do not respond to the password.
These are the pages after nine, kampvragen, op date, before noon, after midnight, studenten, after noon and familiefeesten. -
Hi there,
I can confirm that I am able to open https://koffieklets490681761.wordpress.com/probleem/ in Chrome (incognito) by adding the password you have given.
It seems like there may be an issue that is specific to the browser on your computer, since none of us here have been able to reproduce the issue on our end when we try. For us it seems the password works correctly every time.
With this in mind I would like you to try clearing your browser cache and cookies, as directed by Google in this article: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
If you clear your cache/cookies by following those steps, does it resolve the issue for you? What if you try to open the password protected page in an incognito window (instead of a standard window) as well?
Do either of those allow you to open the password protected content in Chrome? Thanks for confirming.
