Pages will not show on main page

  Hi. I am just trying to set up my blog. I created three pages that I would like to be linked to from the main page of my blog, which I would like to show recent posts. Originally, this was the case and the page titles were showing on the main page to click to each one. For some reason, they are no longer showing on the main page. I followed the instructions in the help section and tutorial sections, went to Settings>Reading and the option shown on the tutorial does not show up on my settings page.
