Pages with custom names
-
Is there a way to have custom page names, using the <!–nextpage–> tag? I mean to replace the default numbering 1,2,3,… with different descriptions of post “chapters”: Intro, sub-topic 1, sub-topic 2, …
Blog address is extendedreality.wordpress.com
No paginated post yet, so nothing to look at for the moment. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we slit content in posts using the <!–nextpage–> tag? The answer is yes. See the support docs for all methods of splitting content here.
I am not clear about what you mean by changing of the default numbering though. If you wish to you can organize you blog like a book.
I am not clear on what you mean by “pages with custom names”. See > Pages and custom menu.

Thanks for reply. I had the doubt my request was not clear enough, though.
The usage of <!–nextpage–> was clear to me and I find it very useful, along with “read more” and the other ways to split contents, as you suggested.
Plainly said: if you use the <!–nextpage–> tag you have a “Page: 1 2 …” at the bottom of the post.
But what if I want to have a “Page: Intro Topic1 Topic2 …” instead of standard numbering? Is there a way to get it? This means, again, replacing numbers with custom descriptions of post pages.
I’d apply this, if possible, to single posts, not the whole blog. -

I don’t believe that’s possible on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Staff will be able to provide a definitive answer so I’ll flag this thread for their attention.

P.S. I apologize, in advance, if I am wrong and it is possible to edit the page numbering.

Unfortunately, this level of customization cannot be accomplished on a WordPress.com blog.

Thanks for replies to all of you.
I guess I will use some “href” trick in combination with pagination to achieve this result. More or less…
Thanks again.
