I don’t know if this is possible but i have seen what I want on other blogs. I have a recipe index page with categories within that. On each category I want to have all of the links to recipes that fit that description, but how do I create the page without making it show up in the top bar?
Sorry if that was too confusing! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is this your blog? http://aspoonfulofyum.wordpress.com/
The sub-pages you have now under http://aspoonfulofyum.wordpress.com/recipe-index/ are going to be useless to you unless you intend to manually update each and every one of them. You need to comprehend that those sub-pages labels ought to all be sub-categories. if you create theme as sub-categories and have Recipes as a category then you can can create a custom menu to achieve what you want to do.Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
What’s critical is a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ As I previously stated there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, but we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. When we publish a post it autimatically appears on the main page for posts and on on Archives, Categories, sub-categories which are generated by the software (ie. they are not static pages created by bloggers). Note that in order for a category or sub-category page to have anything to display thete must be a published post in it.
You can create a custom menu and add the automatically generated categories and sub-categories pages into the custom menu.

Haha no problem, I didn’t even notice because I was reading it in my email. Thank you so much for your help, that was exactly what I wanted! Don’t suppose you know how to get the little buttons on your blog that allow people to subscribe to my blog on google reader etc?
