Pagination Issue Causing Duplicate Content Concerns
-
Hi WordPress Support,
I’m using the Twenty Twenty-Three theme on my WordPress.com site (mywinnie28.wordpress.com), and I noticed that my paginated pages use query-string URLs like:
Instead of the preferred format:
I checked the page source and found that no canonical tags are present on paginated pages. This may cause duplicate content issues, as search engines might index multiple versions of the same page.
Could you please:
1. Enable self-referencing canonical tags for paginated pages to prevent duplicate content issues?
2. Switch my pagination format to /page/2/ instead of query parameters (if possible)?I appreciate your help in resolving this issue to improve my site’s SEO. Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,

That’s how the query loop block works and there is nothing you can change – https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/query-loop-block/
