I have a couple of questions regarding starting up a new blog.
I want to be able to share my blog with another writer (possibly more in the future), which would require us all to be able to log in & post under our own user handles (and for our short bio to be shown in each post too).
We want to be able to have ads on our posts, to generate money for the blog – how do we do this?
We also would like the opportunity in the future to include a way to link to one of the bloggers ecommerce website – is this possible with blog hosting?

That’s no problem. Each person can be invited to the site and assigned a role with these steps:

Nothing is off limits for Administrators so only recommend assigning this role to people you trust :)
(and for our short bio to be shown in each post too)

Do you mean adding a text link to the store, somewhere on your own site? If so, that will be possible — custom links can be added to the menu.
How much are domain names?
Our paid plans include the cost of one domain for the first year. After that, they renew at the regular cost (which varies depending on which extension you choose):
