    Hi,

just get the question: Why is it okay, that english Ones can “help you earn a financial reward for all the hard work you’ve invested in your blog.” by affiliate links and the germans don’t?

(The same with sponsored posts: for english ones they are allowed but not for german ones)

(I’m sorry for my bad english)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is the WordPress.COM support forum. helmut.li is hosted by Neue Medien Muennich and not by WordPress.COM. The WordPress.COM affiliate links and advertising policies do not apply to that site.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

    Hi,

thanks for your post. But I know the Differences between this two Services.

And I am talking about WordPress.COM

What is the URL of the german language WordPress.com blog you are talking about then?

Well, I got this question because in a german forum for bloggers starts a thread with the topic about the ToS of the difference services for free blogging.

So, ich had read the ToS of Blogger and then the english ones for wordpress.COM – In the german Forum stands that isn’t allowed to post paid content on WordPress.COM – but in the english ToS is it allowed.
Afters is I read the german ToS and i found the text – and this Text says: No, you are not allowed to post paid content or aff. links!

So, well: I get the question: Why is it okay, that english ones earn money for their hard work on a blog and the germans not?

Is it a fact of german laws?
I don’t think, because blogger should have this rule also…

Very interesting. No, I think it’s a function of new policies being rolled out in a patchy way. I will flag this for a staff response.

    Hi Christiane,

Could you point me to a link for the thread you mention?

Also, could you point me to the specific section of the German WordPress.com ToS that prohibits affiliate links/paid content? Are you referring to this section?

    für Ihren Blog keine Werbung über unerwünschte E-Mail-Inhalte, wie z. B. Spam Links zu Newsgruppen, E-Mail-Listen, anderen Blogs oder Websites, veröffentlicht wird und keine vergleichbaren, unerbetenen Werbemethoden eingesetzt werden;

    Hi @sponselino,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It looks like the German support page on advertising policies needs some updating. Sponsored content is allowed. We have some more details and guidelines here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/sponsored-posts/

I’ll make sure the German support page gets updated, and that a German version of the sponsored posts page gets added as well!
