I tried using the help on wordpress but I still can’t figure out how to separate the posts. The blogs I write upload to both pages automatically

  • Hey there,

Happy to help you with this.

SO I create my home page to be blog posts but I also want to create blogs on paid content block. WIll all the blogs I write be automatically posted to both pages? I want to separate them

Ok so all posts by default will appear on the homepage if the homepage is set to show posts.

For posts that require a subscription to the site – those unsubscribed will not be able to see the content which is present there.

    Instead they’ll see a sign in/register button.

Out of curiosity, what are you building as whole? We could perhaps offer some advice on how best to structure the site.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hey it’s alright I got help from someone at WordPress who was able to help me out that deep hole lol I had to create a blank page and use a customized category so the specific paid blogs could be gated. Boy that was a challenge and a half I’ll tell you! But maybe you could answer one question for me. So when I actually EDIT the paid blog post you know how it shows the guest view vs the subscriber view? So it looks like I got it working but when I published the post it shows everything. Is that just because I can see it since I created it? Or is it just not working for some reason? Because when I actually edit it…it shows the guest view is blocked and the subscriber view shows the blog so it should be working but on my website it just shows like normal

Following up on my last reply to you. This is what I see. It looks like it should be working. But now that I’ve actually published that post it just shows the entire content on my page

  • I don’t see any subscriber content on the front page of the site or on the bonus-content section. Please send a link to the page where that screen shot is from. Thanks.

Yea the website is currently unpublished so nobody can see it right now which is unfortunate because I might have to wait a week to clean up my website so it’s ready for launch before I make it public. So it doesn’t destroy my SEO because right now it’s filled with trash and not ready. But someone from wordpress thinks it’s just because I’m signed in my account so I see the regular blog post behind the gated paid content. So for now i might literally just have to wait a week or two and get others to check for me or just log out of my account, new browser, incognito mode and see if I still get access to the paid content

But just in case you can still see content from an unpublished website this is the link to that blog post https://mockflixcomedy.wordpress.com/2023/06/28/extra/

  • Hi there,

Everything looks set up correctly, so I believe you’re only able to see the subscriber content because you’re the owner/admin. I cannot confirm that because I can see the subscriber content as staff but cannot view it in incognito because the site is private, as you mentioned. If you do happen to make the site public, let us know, and we’ll take another look. Thanks!

Yes thank you so much! I did hear another WordPress staff tell me that same thing so hopefully that’s the case and will definitely let you guys know if I’m still having issues!

Hey if you guys are still here just letting you know I did launch my website and my paid content is working! I went to my website through a different computer and I saw a subscribe button so it looks like everything worked out

  • Awesome, thanks for confirming! Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions.
