Paid domain registry & WordPress hosting at WhoIs

Hello, I had registered my domain paperlinestudio.com with WhoIs. I also just purchased webhosting service for WordPress from them for 3 years. Now I’m being asked to pay $96 again to WordPress.. Did I screw up? What am I paying $118 to WhoIS for WordPress then?

They are two different sites at two different places on two different servers.
You’re only asked to pay here at WordPress.com if for some reason you’re trying to purchase an upgraded plan and perhaps trying to move your other domain from where it is now to here??
