Paid for custom domain but it isn't showing up
-
I just paid for a custom domain name (thisladybakes.com) but it didn’t work. I think I enabled the wrong site to link to my new address, and my blog is still at wordpress.com. Is there a way to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have 72 hours passed since you purchased the domain? It can take that long for a domain name change to propagate throughout the internet and that’s why Staff included that information in support documentation entry on domain mapping.
If the WordPress.com blog URL is http://stronghealthy.wordpress.com then it’s already directing correctly to http://stronghealthyfit.net/The Admin side of your blog will still have.wordpress.com URLs and so will image and media files – that’s normal behavior.

I didn’t realize it might take that long. The blog url is http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com. Right after I made the payment it asked for a domain to route to my new address. I clicked on the old URL- should I have clicked on the new one I wanted to create? I’m not that good with computer stuff like this.

I have the same problem of having purchased a domain that is not showing my purchased customized site. How do I fix it so the pictures on my site show up?

@annecalista
Thanks for posting the correct URL. So just to get this straight so that when Staff enter this thread to help you am I clear on the following?
you want to domain map from http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com to http://stronghealthyfit.net/ If that correct or not? If it isn’t then what is the domain URL you want to domain map from http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com to? -
@jarrington20
What is the .wordpress.com URL in question?
What is the domain URL that you want it mapped to?
When did you purchase the domain mapping upgrade?P.S. Please start another thread for your images issue by using this link.

Sorry if I was unclear. I want to domain map from http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com to http://thisladybakes.com. I purchased the upgrade this afternoon.

@annecalista
Thank you for posting the URLs above. Did you follow through with the domain mapping instructions for mapping for http://thisladybakes.com to http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com5. To activate your new domain, select the button next to the one you wish to activate and click Update Primary Domain. Your blog will be accessible from both of these domains; the Primary Domain is what actually appears as your domain within the address bar of web browsers. If you do not see your blog at the new domain immediately, please allow some time for the DNS changes to propagate. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/#instructions-for-registering-a-new-domain-for-your-blog
What about the other blog?
http://stronghealthy.wordpress.com is already directing correctly to http://stronghealthyfit.net/ Is that satisfactory? -
Yes, I got to the domain mapping instructions after I paid to register the new address. I think i clicked on the old one (http://thisladybakes.wordpress.com) rather than the new one. Is there a way to get back to that page?
I am no longer using my other blog. -
On the store tab in the dashboard, it has “domains.” You can correct update the primary one there. That is also where you would edit the DNS if you add the email thru Google aps.
