Paid for Custom Domain name not provided

  • Unknown's avatar

I have just purchased a custom domain name but instead was provided a free address that happened to be incorrect (added onto by WordPress in the form of ‘namedotcom.wordpress.Com’ instead of ‘name.wordpress.com’ ). Cannot locate customer service or tech support phone number to correct this. Please advise at this email ((email visible only to moderators and staff)), thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Added contact email – against recommendation as I had no other way of being contacted.

Requesting domain: “name.com” instead of “namedotcom.wordpress.com.” thanks.

  • Hey there,

I see no transaction under your account. What is the domain address? I would like to look into this for you and make sure it is not under a different account than the one you contacted us from.

    Thanks!

    Hi Darnelldibbles,

Thanks for helping me out. The domain should be redpilloverdose.com but instead I was given an address of “redpilloverdosedotcom.wordpress. com”

I did enter all required fields with my credit card, but perhaps the transaction didn’t go through.

    Cheers,
    Chad

The reason why you see the dotcom on your blog URL is because you entered redpilloverdose.com into the domain field when you were creating the address. Leave the .com out of the field and enter redpilloverdose – you should get your desired results: redpilloverdose.wordpress.com to go along side your custom domain, redpilloverdose.com.

Yep, there is no registration for that domain on our end, so it doesn’t appear that anything processed. I’d try it again and let me know if you still have trouble purchasing it.

    Thanks!
