Paid for domain and don't see it connecting?

  Hi there,
  I am new to this so I may have done something wrong- but I thought I registered a domain- http://www.pairofgenes.com and paid 25.00 through paypal but there is no sign of that having happened- is there wait time etc. on establishing a domain?
