Paid premium $18 to get a name and did not get it correctly

  • Unknown's avatar

I paid $18 to get customerservicenow.com. I got (email visible only to moderators and staff). I sent you an e mail 2 days ago and still no response. Since you indicvated I could get that which I requested, I want either that or I want my money back. Please respnd promptly. This is bad customer service and I will blog about it.

I am making this public because privately I received only confirmation of you processing my credit card.

    Thank you

  • WordPress.com sites are given a yoursite.wordpress.com URL. We have an upgrade that allows users to replace that yoursite.wordpress.com URL with a custom yoursite.com URL. Once set up, traffic to yoursite.com will be directed to yoursite.wordpress.com and site visitors will only ever see the yoursite.com URL.

You paid for that domain and registered customerservicenow.org which is pointing correctly to your http://customerservicenow.wordpress.com/ site. I am seeing customerservicenow.wordpress.com appear as the URL on your site after redirecting. This means that you did not have customerservicenow.org set to be your “primary” domain as described here:

    Domains

Since I’m guessing you want customerservicenow.org to be the URL that is shown to users, I have set it as your primary domain.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

UNCLEAR. I wanted customerservicenow.com and I was told that was available. Do you understand? I do not want org as the primary.

  • I think there may have been some confusion during the registration process. According to the whois data, customerservicenow.com has been registered to someone since the year 2000. So it could not have been listed as an available domain by our system. What was available was the wordpress site name “customerservicenow.wordpress.com”.

I apologize for the confusion. I would be happy to refund the $18 registration for customerservicenow.org if you would like. But I cannot help you register customerservicenow.com as it is not an available domain.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Thank you Rootjosh. I finally have an understanding though I disagree. While I am miffed about how long this has taken to get this response, I am satisfied with it. By the way customerservice.com is taken but has never been used. I think this is violation of WordPress policy. Is this the same with customerservice.now.com? I see no use either.

Please refund the money at once. Please confirm at once.

I will then seek a new domain. I question whether it will be with WordPress based upon the experience. Or seek solutions with Blogger.com or Flickr.

In response to your 6/28 note that a premium allows for customizing without a wordpress.com suffix. I paid the premium and I got one anyway. Fraud, bait and bait. Call it what you will. Do you see your problem? You offered something and then did not provide it. My only resolution was to communicate via this very slow customer service support system.

I recommend that you fix your customer service because it is bad.

  • I have processed that refund for you and removed customerservicenow.org from your account. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.

Everyone gets a ______.wordpress.com address initially. It is how our system is set up and how all “admin” functions (posting, uploading, design, etc) are done on your site. Having a custom URL hides the ______.wordpress.com from anyone visiting your site and replaces it with the [yoursite].com or [yoursite].org (or .net or .me) domain of your choice. The only reason that your http://customerservicenow.wordpress.com/ site was showing when you initially wrote is that it was set as the “primary” domain for your site as described here:

    Domains

You need your custom domain (right now that would be custservicefirst.com) set as your primary domain in order for it to replace your ________.wordpress.com URL.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
