WordPress says my import of Posterous was successful. And to “have fun”.
But when I go to my wordpress blog that used to be populated by posterous, 4 years of images are still all blank.Was I too late to do the upload?
I have the downloaded 148 Mb of posterous backup, with 636 images.
I have uploaded the .xml file and followed all the wordpress support page notes on importing. It said successful, but only after a few seconds.
Is there a way I can get them back into my wordpress blog? -
the XML file has links to images /media but does not have the images in the file itself – so the old site needs to be online for the importer to fetch the images

I thought I might be too late.
Is there anyway to import from the download I have from posterous on my hard drive.
It is a shame to lose 4 years out of a photoblog that I have been doing since 2005 -
There might be. What format is the file? A regular Posterus export? You can always try re-importing from that. It won’t erase what’s already here.

I have not seen a workaround mentioned – but I flagged this for staff attention, maybe they will have a suggestion
