Panel theme not showing the number of comments
-
Hello,
here’s my problem : I have currently two comics on my website. The first one has 3 comments and the second has one.
If you go here : http://memelespoulets.wordpress.com/
you’ll see that it’s correctly displaying “1 comment”. But then, if you press the Previous button to go to the previous comic, it won’t show the number of comments when it should be displaying “3 comments”.
If you then press next to go to the other comic, it won’t show “1 comment” etiher. Can you help me with that ? If not, where can I contact this theme’s developper ?
ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Displaying the comments are a little tricky because of the idiosyncrasies of this theme.
The comic titled Le discours resides on on the page http://memelespoulets.wordpress.com/comic/le-discours/, where it displays the comment below it. The link on the page, however, is redundant, because it is a link to the page you are on.
Le discours is also displayed as what may be a unique feature of this theme, at the top of the front page at memelespoulets.wordpress.com, perhaps because it is the latest page, or perhaps because it was chosen to be featured there. Only in this front page display is a link including the number of comments given. To reach the comments from the links in this front page display, do either of the following:
1. Click on the date link to display the comic with the comment below it. This brings you to the page where Le discours is embedded.
2. Click on the comment number link, “1 commentaire,” to display only the comment. The comic Preums ! appears on the page http://memelespoulets.wordpress.com/comic/preums/. Since it isn’t the front page feature page, there is no comment number link as there is on the front page display of Le discours. The comments appear below the the comic Preums ! when you reach the page by selecting the Previous button from Le discours. And once again the date link is redundant, leaving you on the same page when it is clicked.

I don’t know. It certainly looks like the theme would benefit from some modifications. Panel is designed by Automattic. I think this Themes forum the probably the best place to begin. Automattic has a contact page here: http://automattic.com/contact/, but I don’t know if that will help.
I’ll flag (tag) the thread for Staff assistance, because I think they should be made aware of the design issues you’ve brought attention to.

Hi there,
As musicdoc1 described, what you’re seeing is the intended behavior of the theme. When you’re on the front page of the site, you’ll see a link to go to the comic’s page to view the comments there. But when you’re already on an individual comic’s page, the comments are visible if you scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Since that’s how the theme is designed, I’m not sure what sort of fix you’re looking for. Can you explain more about what you want it to do instead?

I think the member is confused by the fact that the link which gives the present number of comments on the page only appears on the featured front page. So only one page at time apparently can have its comments total displayed (as a link to the comments), and that happens only when it appears on the front page.
