PANIC! My blog says I have deleted it when I haven't
-
I’m totally distraught. I signed in to my wordpress today to do some work on one of my very rare days off and I’m greeted with a message that my blog was deleted by the author. I’m the only author and I haven’t deleted it.
The blog has had various different names and I’ve read that this can sometimes misplace your blog but it has been at roamingzoe.wordpress.com for quite a while now. I’ve also tried searching in google for all the other titles it once had and I’ve yet to stumble across one which hasn’t been deleted.
I submitted a message to the support team but I’ve no idea how long it takes for them to get back in contact or even how they do so (and how I would find out).
Any help would be much appreciated.
:(Thanks, Zoe
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have to say, I’m quite upset that I’ve STILL not heard anything regarding the disappearance of my blog. I’ve seen a lot of people get some sort of response from staff in the last couple of hours. I know you’re busy, but this blog is very important to me!
Please could someone help me rectify this issue?!

roamingzoe.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Did you use the same password for your email account and your blog?
Are you sharing log-in information with anyone or leaving it where anyone can locate it?
Are you remaining logged in on your computer so anyone can come along and access your blog through it?
1. Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to email accounts and to blogs.
2. Change the password on your WordPress.com username account to a very difficult one. http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
3. Register a new blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/ Be sure your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
4. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
5. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/
6. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.
Then read this please knowing that blogs don’t get hacked when security protocols are followed. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/

P.S. This thread is tagged for a Staff follow-up but do change your email account and account password immediately.
Staff will tell you when the blog was deleted but will not likely be able to restore content. You will probably have to copy and paste content into new posts from the indexed content found in Google’s cache.

Thanks for your help. I have no idea how anybody could have gained access to my blog. I do not use a shared computer, I’ve recently changed the password on the account and it is different to all of my other passwords, but I will change it again.
I received a notification today whilst my blog was down saying that somebody had followed the blog but under it’s old name. When I tried to google that old blog URL it said that was deleted too (as it should be, since I changed the name some time ago).
Since all of this happened I also had a notification come through saying that my blog, under it’s old name, had a spike in traffic that was unusual.
How is that possible if the blog isn’t there? I’m totally bewildered as to how all of this happening/has happened.
Again, thank you for your help!

Please do not waste time posting here. Someone else seems to have access to your account so do what I posted above please ASAP.
-
My problem appears to have been fixed! Seems there must have been some sort of system error which showed my blog as being deleted although it wasn’t!
Thanks for your time!
-
Hooray! I am so happy to hear that. Please do take all the security steps too though. Happy blogging!
-
There have been three or four blogs that were sort of “deleted” and they were, I checked the links – then they just sort of came back by themselves. Single user blogs.
A bit disturbing to say the least.
At least one or two had long passwords (their own description)

I don’t see anything in our records that shows the blog roamingzoe.wordpress.com was deleted.
@roamingzoe, please let me know if this happens again.
@auxclass and @timethief, if you happen to see any other reports of this happening, please modlook the thread and tag it “mystery delete” as well as with my name, so I can look into it further.

Will do.
P.S. I did see the deleted blog notice on this one:
roamingzoe.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site. -
@timethief that’s odd, because I don’t see it as deleted. When I go, I see the site:
https://i.cloudup.com/YqyURZk36J.pngCould you try clearing your cache? If it still shows up as deleted, that would be odd indeed.

@jackiedana
Hi again,
No it’s not displaying the deleted message now but it most assuredly was when I first posted into this thread. -
That’s very strange then. If this is happening to others, it would be very helpful to have more sites to review.
-
-
Just flagged one for you from a day or so back – only had to go back 6 pages
-

-
I’ll be monitoring the “mystery delete” tag so if any others come up, just tag them with that.
-
@jackiedana here’s another one from a month ago which is closed so I can’t add the tag https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/our-blog-is-showing-as-deleted-how-do-we-get-it-back?replies=10#post-1503200
I know there were others, but I don’t have time to look for them now.
